MSK health in children and young people

The Paediatric Global MSK Task Force acknowledges the importance of children and young people in a life course approach to optimising MSK health for all.

It is estimated that MSK problems affect 1 in 8 children and young people including trauma, orthopaedic, rheumatic and congenital conditions as well as the consequences of obesity.

The aims of Paediatric Global MSK Task Force are:

  • To raise awareness and describe the impact of MSK conditions on the lives of children and young people.
  • To identify and share exemplar ‘models of good practice’ to address unmet need with focus on models of clinical care and education and training of the workforce.
  • To promote healthy joints and bones in healthy children through diet, exercise and avoidance of injury.
